New Year's Eve Utensil Pocket

 

 

What You'll Need:

Let's Do this!

Step 1:

A) Mix one teaspoon of gold paint with one teaspoon of water to thin the paint.

B) Use a paint brush to drip dots of the thinned gold paint onto the bottom half of a vertically positioned sheet of watercolor paper. Let Dry. 

C) Mix one teaspoon of silver paint with one teaspoon of water to thin the paint.

D) Use a paint brush to add dripped dots of the thinned silver paint onto the bottom half of the same sheet of watercolor paper. Let dry. 

Step 2:

A) Measure 1 ¼" down from the top of the paper and fold the paper forward to create a small flap.

B) Measure 4" up from the bottom of the paper and fold the paper back to create a large flap.

C) Place the paper down with the large flap towards the table. Measure 2 ½" in from the left side and fold the paper towards the center to make a crease.

D) Measure 2 ½" in from the right side and fold the paper towards the center to make another crease.  

Step 3:

Open the side folds and turn the paper back over so the large flap is now facing front. Adhere the gold washi tape across the top edge of the large bottom flap and across the top fold of the paper. Snip with scissors to trim edges. 

Step 4:

Adhere a gem strip over the gold washi tape on the large flap between the two creases. Snip with scissors to fit.


Step 5:

A) Adhere a chalk label to the front of the large flap between the two creases.

B) Use the chalkboard marker to write the year on the label. Let dry. 

Step 6:

A) Turn the paper around to the back. Tuck the top left flap into the top right flap.

B) Tuck the bottom right flap into the bottom left flap. This will create the pocket on the front.  

Step 7:

Tuck the utensils into the pocket.
