Upcycled Can Planter

Upcycled Can Planter
Turn everyday cans into charming upcycled planters with a bit of decoupage and creativity! Wrapped in pretty paper and perched on wood bead feet, these stylish containers are perfect for housing small plants and adding a touch of whimsy to any windowsill or shelf.

Let's Get Started

STEP 1:

A)    Remove the label from the can.

B)    Measure the height of the can on your paper using a pencil and draw a straight line across.

C)   Cut along the line to make a paper strip to wrap around the can.

STEP 2:

A)    Apply a coat of decoupage medium to the outside of the can.

B)    Place the strip of paper on the wet decoupage and wrap it around the can.

C)   Apply a second coat of decoupage over the paper to seal it. Let dry completely.

D)   If desired, use sandpaper to lightly distress the edges and reveal the can’s ridge texture.

STEP 3:

A)    Hot glue wood beads to the bottom of the can to serve as feet.
