Upcycled Glass Jars

Upcycled Glass Jars
Turn ordinary glass jars into charming up-cycled décor by wrapping them with jute twine, accenting with natural wood beads, and adding hand-drawn designs using a white acrylic paint marker. These rustic jars make beautiful vases, candle holders, or storage containers with a cozy handmade touch.

Let's Get Started

STEP 1:

A)    Gather recycled glass jars in assorted sizes and shapes. Remove any labels and adhesive, then wash and dry the jars thoroughly.

STEP 2:

A)    Print out the template and cut out the pattern strips.

STEP 3:

A)    Roll a pattern strip into a tube shape and insert it into a jar.

B)    Using the pattern as a guide, draw designs on the glass with a white acrylic paint marker.

STEP 4:

A)    If the pattern is too large to fit inside your jar, freehand the designs using the template as a reference. You can also create your own designs!

STEP 5:

A)    Add wood bead accents by threading jute through the beads, then tie a knot to hold them in place.

STEP 6:

A)    Wrap jute around the neck or bottom of each jar.

B)    Secure the jute with hot glue.

STEP 7:

A)    You jars are ready to use and display!
