Painted Books

 What You'll Need:

 Let's Do This!

Step 1:

A) Rip approximately 12 pages from inside of the books. Tip: Spread them out, so they're not all ripped from the same area.

B) Tear the pages into smaller pieces. There is not a perfect size. Just make it random.

Step 2:

A) Coat the entire outside of the book in small sections at a time with deco podge.

B) Start over lapping ripped paper pieces on the wet deco podge. Brush pieces with more deco podge as you continue adding pieces.

C) Continue covering front and binding of the book, making sure you wrap the paper pieces around the edges to the inside. Make sure that the pieces that wrap around the edge to the inside of the book are deco podged as well. Let dry.

D) Flip book over and repeat steps 2b-2c until completely covered. Let Dry.

Step 3:

A) Repeat Steps 2A through 2D to complete all three books. Let dry.

Step 4:

A) Paint the books with a light coat of white paint. Let dry.

Step 5:

A) Stamping the books: 'MERRY' on the top book. 'AND' on the middle book. 'BRIGHT' on the bottom book. TIP: Stamp the words in reverse order so you can get the spacing correct.

Step 6:

A) Stack books. Wrap jute several times around books and tie ends into a bow.

B) Tuck greens and berries under the jute bow.
