Let’s Do This!

Step 1.

Cut out 7 strips of burlap ribbon, each measuring 5.5” in length. On each of the 7 burlap pieces, cut one end into a pencil point.

Step 2:

Align a strip of tape 1” from the flat end of each burlap piece and another piece of tape lined up with the points you created for the pencil point. Paint the top rectangle pink. Let dry.

Step 3:

Remove the piece of tape at the pink edge. Paint that space yellow. Let dry.

Step 4:

Using the gold metallic paint marker, paint a gold line between the pink and yellow areas

Step 5:

Using black puffy paint, write the letters for “W-E-L-C-O-M-E” on the burlap pencils. One letter per piece. Make the letters big enough to be seen from a distance. Use the black puffy paint to paint a triangle at the bottom to resemble the pencil lead.

Step 6:

Use the back of the paint brush to poke two holes into the eraser on each “pencil” between burlap fibers.

Step 7:

Start to thread the jute through each burlap pencil to spell out “WELCOME” leave enough jute on either end so you can hang your banner.

Tip! Wrap a piece of tape around the end of the jute to make it easier to thread through the burlap banner pieces.
