  • Crafter's Closet Paint Palette
  • Crafter's Closet Brushes
  • Crafter's Closet Jute
  • Crafter's Closet Iridescent Glitter
  • Crafter's Closet Burlap Ribbon
  • Crafter's Closet Fabric Scissors

Let's Do This:

Watermelon

Step 1:

  • A) Cut a 5.5" piece of Burlap Ribbon.
  • B) Fold the piece in half and cut a circular line from one corner to the opposite.
  • C) When you unfold the ribbon, the result should be a half circle.

Step 2:

  • A) Mix your red paint together with a little yellow and white to get a fruity red color. Paint the majority of your shape with this color, leaving a .5" border along the curved edge.
  • B) Mix your green paint with a little white and paint the edge of the curved cut, leaving the inner half of that space bare burlap.
  • C) Paint three teardrop shapes in the center using black paint. Let dry.

Step 3:

  • A) Apply white paint to the bare burlap strip.
  • B) While the paint is still wet, top with the Iridescent Glitter.

Citrus Fruit
Step 1:

  • A) Follow Step 1 of the Watermelon steps to get a half circle shape. Mix together your red, yellow, and, white paints to get a light orange. Paint the majority of your shape with this color, leaving a .5" border along the curved edge.
  • B) With a slightly darker orange, paint the edge of the curved cut leaving the inner half of that shape bare burlap.
  • C) Add lines to the center shape with the darker orange. These lines should be coming from the bottom center and evenly separate the shape into thirds.
  • D) Using white paint, paint three teardrop shapes in the center of each third. Let dry.
  • E) Apply white paint to the bare burlap strip and top with Iridescent Glitter.

Step 2:

  • A) Use your Fabric Scissors to clean up any rough edges.
  • B) Take the bottom end of a smaller Paint Brush and poke a hole in each top corner.

Step 3:

  • String each fruit onto the Jute in a fun, alternating pattern! You can wrap a piece of tape around the very edge of the jute to keep it from unraveling.

TIP:

Change up the colors of the citrus fruit to add lemons and limes to the mix!
