Steps to Follow:
To make this poster by hand:
- Start with a piece of ArtSkills neon poster board and glue it down onto a piece of ArtSkills white foam board. Lay this out vertically.
- Add a large neon blue burst ArtSkills Pre-Cut Poster Board Shape to the background of your poster. Trim off the edges that overlap your poster using an ArtSkills Poster Knife. Be sure to exercise caution when cutting.
- Add the first part of your title, "VOTE FOR," centered at the top of your poster using black ArtSkills Jumbo Black and White Poster Letters. Centered below that, add your name using random color ArtSkills Jumbo Neon Poster Letters on top of black ArtSkills Jumbo Black and White Poster Letters. Move the top letters up and to the left a bit before adhering to create a drop shadow effect. Centered on the next line, add "YOU WON'T MAKE A MISTAKE!," or whatever other catch phrase you'd like to use, with black ArtSkills Vinyl Poster Letters.
- Print out a picture of yourself and glue it down on a piece of colored paper. Cut this out, leaving a small border of colored paper around the picture, then glue it down in the center of your poster.
- Beneath your picture and on the left side of your poster, add the position you are running for and the year using pink ArtSkills Neon Poster Letters on top of green ArtSkills Neon Poster Letters. Move the pink letters up and to the left a bit before adhering to create a drop shadow effect.
- Find an election-related clip art image you like. Print and cut it out, then glue it down beneath your picture and to the right. Feel free to get creative with this step; the poster picture above incorporates a list clip art image and uses ArtSkills Neon Poster Letters and a custom font to create an acronym for the person's name.
- Add large pink holographic directional arrow ArtSkills Eye Catchers pointing towards your picture diagonally from the left and right sides of your poster.
- Poke holes through your picture's border from the back of your poster using the poker provided in your ArtSkills Poster Lights box. Be sure to space them out evenly to fit the number of lights you have. Push the light bulbs through the holes from the back and adhere the battery pack to the back of your poster using the adhesive strip provided. You will need to install batteries for your lights to work. If your wiring is sticking out to much, adhere it to the back of your poster using either tape or hot glue. Be sure to exercise caution if you use hot glue.
- Great work! Your poster is all ready for the election.
