Product Regulatory Specialist

Position Overview:

ArtSkills has a full-time position available for a Product Regulatory Specialist to join our team and lead our efforts associated with developing and sustaining compliance needs. This will include driving processes to manage compliance to current standards and staying abreast of new developments, as well as testing and reporting requirements for our products. Candidate must perform exceptionally in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple assignments under deadlines. Candidate must be highly organized, resourceful and detail-oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in Mass Market Consumer Packaged Goods industry is preferred. 

Your experience with regulatory and compliance in the consumer goods, automotive, baking, or other regulated industries is critical, along with your familiarity with domestic and international regulations and standards.

SUMMARY: The Product Regulatory Specialist leads the efforts associated with identifying compliance needs and developing and sustaining policies and procedures to address those needs. This includes responsibility to ensure that company processes are compliant with current standards, as well as to create forward-looking plans that anticipate changing regulatory developments, updates, expectations, and reporting requirements for a variety of products and markets. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Work cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Product Development groups to ensure that products adhere to compliance objectives. 

 • Develop a comprehensive compliance plan by researching and presenting regulatory topics, and formulating action plans for new and existing products and markets. 

• Renew and update standard testing requirements. 

• Track updates to relevant regulations and standards, and communicate developments to stakeholders. 

• Research and develop regulatory, safety, and compliance reporting requirements for all products and markets. 

• Develop and enforce materials compliance policy and work with Sourcing, Product, and Supply Chain teams to ensure compliance. 

 • Train internal customers on new and updated regulations, standards, etc. 

 • Manage labeling requirements for all products and markets to ensure compliance. 

 • Standardize and develop processes, procedures, and work instructions for compliance administration. 

• Complete documentation and technical reports for external agencies and customers/WERKS/SDS/FSC.

 REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

 Education: 

 • Associates degree, or equivalent, with 3+ years of experience. 

 Experience: 

• Regulatory and compliance management experience in consumer goods, stationery, arts & crafts, toy, fitness, baking, or other regulated areas. 

• Experience with Domestic and International regulations and standards. 

• Exposure to legal, regulatory, compliance, and/or other similar disciplines. 

• Experience writing procedures, instructions, technical reports, WERKS, SDS.

• Quality Assurance, Product Safety, and Compliance continuous improvement. 

• Office Platform: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
