Centering Your Letters
Relax! Centering letters on your poster is not as hard as you think.
Follow the steps below to center your poster title.
Example: Happy Birthday as a horizontal title on a poster board.

1. Find the middle of your title space on your poster board and mark it with a dot.
Example: The middle of 28" is 14"
2. Find the middle of your title. This is the point where there are the same number of characters before and after it.
Example: The middle of Happy Birthday
is between the B and the i (there are 7
characters before and 7 characters after
this point).
3. Starting at the center point, fill in the letters of your title.
Example: Put the B to the left of the middle
point and the i to the right of the middle
point, continuing until all letters
and spaces are placed.
