|Steps to Follow:
To make a family tree poster on the Poster Wizard:
Step 1: Pick Your Poster Size.
Choose a size that will best fit your poster layout. I chose a vertical poster because it’s easier to display my family tree. Upload a clip art image of a bare tree.
Step 2: Pick a Background Color.
You want the color to enhance, but not overpower your information. I kept the background white to let my family tree stand out.
Step 3: Add a Border.
Before I add my title or any pictures or information, I decide if I need a border to highlight or unify my theme. I added a colorful neon scallop border around my entire family tree poster. I started with an orange border on the right hand side, added a blue border to the bottom, green to the left and then finally, a pink scallop border to the top of my poster
Step 4: Add a Title.
This is the main point I want to get across. This is where you want to grab attention so be creative and reinforce your poster’s theme. I used black quick letters with neon blue quick letters on top for a drop shadow effect for my main title. I then added my name to the bottom of my poster with black quick letters and then layered random quick letters on top for a drop shadow effect.
Step 5: Add Images.
Now you can add the image of a bare tree to the center of your poster. Delete any borders so that it blends into the background.
Step 6: Add Shapes.
Now is when you can add your creative elements to your poster. I added green flower shapes to my family tree to represent the members of my family. I then added their names as titles using red and blue foam letters.
Step 7: Now you are ready to SAVE and FINISH.
When you are finished, your poster will be sent to you by email. Then you can decide how you would like to print out your poster.
